Through my years as a follower of Christ, I have noticed that sometimes, we as followers of Christ, begin to see God as common and familiar. We hear about the cross so much that it no longer breaks our hearts to think about what Christ went through when He gave His life for us. We no longer stand in awe of who God is and what He has done for us. Instead, we stand in awe of ourselves. We begin to live for our joy instead of His joy. At the heart of our study of John's Gospel, we are praying that we will rediscover the glory of God and begin living our lives in awe of the One who gave it all, so that we gain it all.
